THE BRAINS
BEHIND BRAIN TRAINER

Dr. Ryuta Kawashima, an authority on Brain Science in Japan, is the ‘brains’ behind the creation and development of our excellent ‘mental gymnasium’, the Brain Trainer CLASSIC. It is the perfect aid for stimulating the brain - developed as an aid to stimulating the brain – specifically the frontal cortex, the part of the brain which controls creativity, memory and communication, among other things.

The prefrontal cortex

Using an optical topography system, the neuroscientist and his team conducted a series of experiments which showed how the repeated solving of basic mathematical ‘problems’ and oral reading (reading out loud) stimulates the frontal cortex to a highly beneficial degree. So he designed the Brain Trainer as a tool everyone could use daily - to replicate the exercises that had proved so effective in maintaining mental agility.

The human brain is the most complex structure in the known universe: it’s made up of 100 billion neurons, most of which are already formed at birth. Its computing power is almost infinite, but many of us take it so much for granted that we never realise a fraction of its true potential. As we grow older, even the parts of it we do use function less efficiently than they did in our youth.

Unless, of course, we exercise them…
